Bobo, Momo & Us

We met these 2 poor little fellas scavenging for food in the rubbish dump at Kg. Pasir, the squatter area in Miri. Their little bodies were trembling so badly and their skin was infested with fleas. My colleague, Apek caught the pups with his bare hands and we sent them to the vet in Miri town immediately. I named the little girl Momo, and the little boy Bobo. After the puppies were done with all the medical treatment, we brought them home to live with us in Rumah Impian (the house we stayed in Kg. Pasir). Bobo had a bright and bubbly personality; he's more outgoing and got along with us very quickly. Yet things weren't so easy for Momo. She's extremely timid and tend to get frightened easily by the moving things around her. We spent almost a few months trying to overcome her fear towards us. Bobo passed away 2 weeks later after the rescue, and Momo had stuck around with us for a year and a half.  (photo credit: Yee Pei)

How I wish that I've taken more photos of you.

I miss you so much, Momo. Hope you're doing well up there.
